HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports expressed his utmost happiness after seeing His Highness-owned mare Daahyeh achieving first place in the Cambridgeshire Festival which took place at Newmarket Rowley Mile Course, Britain.
He explained that this new accomplishment underscores the vast support the equestrian sport enjoys from HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, pointing out that His Majesty’s backing has contributed to continuing accomplishing new achievements for the Kingdom of Bahrain in international events.
“Daahyeh’s win underlines Bahrain’s prestigious position in international festivals which witness large participation and strong competition among the participants. This achievement gives us extra motivation to continue making further accomplishments that reflect Bahrain’s advanced position in the equestrian sport,” HH Shaikh Nasser said.
He praised the efforts of trainer Varian Roger and jockey William Buick in preparing Daahyeh ahead of the race. Daahyeh managed to finish first in the 1400m race following a strong competition in the event which featured a strong lineup of eight horses. This is her third victory in abroad races our of five participations. This triumph makes her among the hot favourites to win the upcoming races.
