American Skater Looks Forward to 2019 Red Bull Roller Coaster in Munich.

by PowerUp Sports

Fabiana Delfino mixed it with the world’s best at 2018’s Red Bull Roller Coaster in Munich as she won the women’s edition of skateboarding’s all-round skill test.

The 22-year-old from Boca Raton in Florida returns to the Munich MASH festival in 2019 to see if she can defend her title on June 29 in front of the Olympic Park fans.

Here is what Fabiana had to say ahead of the trip over to Germany:

How did you get into skating and where does your inspiration come from?

I started skating at nine. My older brother and I would watch a lot of Nickelodeon’s ‘Rocket Power’ when we were little. It was a TV show that was centered around siblings who did a bunch of action sports like skateboarding, surfing and rad things like that. When I was young, I would rollerblade around the neighbourhood while my brother and his friends would skateboard. Soon after that, I got my first board. I would bring my board and skates everywhere but, after some time, I just ended up leaving my skates at home.

What is your signature trick?

Dingleberry. It is a combination of a body varial and reverse smith grind.

How much are you looking forward to defending your Red Bull Roller Coaster title?

I’ll just be out there trying to stay on my board and whatever happens, happens. It would be rad to do well, obviously.

What makes the event so special?

There are endless things that make this event so amazing. The competitors, the crowd and, most importantly, the city of Munich. It is such a beautiful one-of-a-kind place. The greenest grass and the friendliest people. Great beer too.

The women’s skating scene is really booming. How fun is it to be a big part of this?

It has been the time of my life travelling the world with my best friends. That’s what it is all about. Nothing more, nothing less.

What challenges have you had to overcome so far in your career?

Equal pay for equal work. Equal opportunities.

What advice do you have for young girls who want to get into skating?

Skate if you want and do it for the right reasons. Slam, get up, then slam again but only do it with a smile.
