Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has affirmed that the distinguished results achieved by the Royal Endurance team at the Jordan World Endurance Championship are the fruitful outcome of the constant support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
They are also the result of the unwavering interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prince Minister, HH Shaikh Nasser said.
HH Shaikh Nasser hailed the Royal Endurance team’s success in clinching the first and second places in the 100-km race in the Jordan World Endurance Championship, as well as in qualifying jockeys and horses in the 120-km race for the upcoming world championship, noting that the exploit adds to the string of successes attained by the Bahraini jockeys in external competitions.
HH Shaikh Nasser indicated that the team had achieved many goals, particularly those related to winning the 100-km race, lauding the success of jockeys Othman Al-Awadhi and Abdulla Janahi in winning the first and second places of the 100-km race, respectively.
Regarding the 120-km race, HH Shaikh Nasser pointed out that young jockeys have gained the necessary experience for future events, including for the World Youth Endurance Championship, set to be hosted by the Netherlands in September this year.
HH Shaikh Nasser asserted that the outstanding results at the event will be a catalyst for the team during future competitions, paying tribute to the technical and administrative staff of the Royal Endurance team for the efforts they have exerted to ensure the success of the team.
HH Shaikh Nasser was keen to follow up the progress of the championship through direct contacts with the technical and administrative staff, which contributed to achieving positive results.
Dr. Khalid Ahmed Hassan, the team Director, affirmed that HH Shaikh Nasser’s directives have contributed to the team’s success in achieving all its goals.
“HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa set two main goals. The first is to prepare 100-km race horses, while the second is to qualify young riders and horses for the upcoming World Youth Endurance Championship,” Dr. Khalid said.
During the Jordan World Endurance Championship, the Royal Endurance team dominated the 100-km race, with the success of jockeys Othman Al-Awadhi, Abdulla Isa Janahi and Mohammed Ibrahim Mubarak, in winning the first, the second and fifth places, respectively.
Othman Al-Awadhi expressed delight at winning the first place of the exciting and highly competitive race, noting that HH Shaikh Nasser’s directives have contributed to the team’s success in reaching the podium.
Jockey Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Subaie, from the KHK team, expressed delight at representing the Royal Endurance team and achieving the fifth place in his first external participation, paying tribute to HH Shaikh Nasser and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for their constant support.
