Khalid bin Hamad Establishes Bahrain Fighting Games Council

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee issued an order to ammend the core common system governing the sports associations by adding a new article (4 bis). 

The new article defines the following: “The President of Bahrain Olympic Committee has the power to establish sports associations under the name +Sports Councils+ and its administrative, financial and technical operations as well as its plans, programs and activities overseen by several sports associations. To each Sports Council a Board of Directors formed by a decree issued by the President of Bahrain Olympic Committee. Each Board composes of a President and five members. The regulations and the provisions of the consolidated rules are applicable to all the sports associations and the sports councils.”  

Based on this order, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa directed for the formation of Bahrain Fighting Games Council which will house under its umbrella the following sports: Wrestling, Boxing, MMA, Judo, Taekwondo, Wushu, Karate, Kick-boxing, Sambo and Jujitsu. 

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa pointed out that the formation of this Council comes to double the efforts towards developing the aforementioned games to cement the successes achieved by the Kingdom in them as well as to upgrade the administrative, financial and technical operations in all of the sports associations in Bahrain and level them with the highest standards that will ensure the best outputs and outcomes.
