HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee received in Al Wadi Palace the President of the High Organising Committee of the 2018 BRAVE International Combat Week and its members as well as representatives of all the event’s sponsors and those who contributed to its success in the presence of HE Mr Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayed, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs. It’s worth noting that the 2018 BRAVE International Combat Week took place on November 11-18, 2018 and it featured the World Championships Amateur Mixed Martial Arts.
The meeting began with HH Shaikh Khalid welcoming all the attendees, congratulating on the success acheived in both events which reflected the Kingdom’s huge potential and effeciency in organising major regional and international sports events.
He praised the extroadinary efforts exerted by all the High Organising Committee members and the preparations to host this international sports gathering on Bahrain’s soil as it has cemented the Kingdom’s global position in the area of sports, adding that the High Organising Committee played a key role in the successful delivery of the event.
“We are proud of the contributions of the govermental agencies and the private companies to the successful organisation of the event which confirmed Bahrain’s capabilities to accomodate various sports activities” HH Shaikh Khalid pointed out.
He concluded by saying: “Bahrain is gearing up to host the 2019 edition of the BRAVE International Combat Week which will take place on November 9-16. It’s a new challenge and it requires everyone to unify their efforts to make it well-known to the whole world that Bahrain is always capable of housing major events and deliver them in extroadinary manner.”
The meeting was wrapped up with HH Shaikh Khalid honouring the president of the High Organising Committee and the govermental agencies as well as the sponsors of the event. Moreover, HH received a souviner from HE Mr Abdulaziz Khalid Al Khayyat, the President of the High Organising Committee of the 2018 BRAVE International Combat Week.
