The Organising Committee of the Middle East Ironman 70.3 Championship Bahrain held extensive meetings with officials representing various government agencies to discuss the soon-to-be-held highly-anticipated event in implementation of the directives of Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports to give this event an exceptional organisation to reflect the bright image of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The event witnessed the attendance of representatives from all the government agencies, who met with the Manager of the Ironman Middle East 70.3 Championship Bahrain and Ms. Amal Al Murbati, President of Faaliyat Company, the organisers of the event.
The attendees discussed many topics involving the organisation of this prestigious event and the representative of the General Traffic Directorate confirmed that the directorate has put an exceptional plan to secure the course of the event. The meeting also reviewed the media plan for the event and the requirements of the media team to cover the cycling race. Furthermore, the security of the roads which will embrace the cycling race was addressed.
Course Unveiled
Moreover, the meeting unveiled the course of the three races of the event, which include a 1.9 km swimming race, to be held near the Avenues Mall, a 90 km cycling race. The latter contest will tour the participants through the premium historic and tourist sites of the Kingdom of Bahrain to shed light on the Kingdom’s old as well as contemporary development. The race, meanwhile, will conclude with a 21.1 running challenge.
Site Ready
Besides, Ahmed Al-Hajj announced the venue which will host the event, taking place on December 7, 2019, near the Avenues Mall is ready. He explained that HH Shaikh Nasser has been in constant follow-up with the Organising Committee and he instructed to provide all the necessary services to all the participants in the championship. He pointed out that the competitors in the event have begun arriving in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Al Salehi: Enormous Media Coverage
From his side, Mr Tawfiq Al Salehi, Director of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Office and Information Centre, affirmed that HH has directed for comprehensive media coverage for the event across all types of media, including visual, audible and printed.
Press Conference
It’s worth noting that the Organising Committee will hold a press conference on Thursday at Ramee Grand Hotel at 10:00 am to uncover further details of the event. Al Murbati and representatives of the sponsors of the event, as well as several participants, will speak during it.
Activities Supporting Autism
Faalyat Management Co. W.L.L., the license holder and organiser of the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship in Bahrain and Dubai are happy to announce they are sponsoring the kids of Alia for Early Intervention Center during the IRONKIDS race. As a fun part of the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain race, The IRONKIDS and IRONKIDS Aquathlon, and IRONGIRL, are dedicated to providing a supportive, energetic and empowering atmosphere for young athletes pursuing a healthy and active lifestyle.
IRONKIDS will engage kids up to 17 years of age categorised in 8 age groups to take part in a fun run for distances suitable for their age. The IRONKIDS Aquathlon will engage kids up to 17 years of age in a swim then a fun run for distances based on their age group. And lastly, the IRONGIRL race will engage aspiring girls and women above the age of 15 for a run distance of 5 km. Ms. Amal Al-Murbati, Managing Director of Faalyat Management Co.
