BRAVE CF president Mohammed Shahid: ‘London debut will change the sport’

by PowerUp Sports

The fastest-growing MMA promotion in the world is set on taking over Europe and changing the sport of mixed martial arts in the process. BRAVE Combat Federation will hold an exclusive, invite-only show in London, on July 25th, designed to connect the highest level of celebrities, influencers, politicians, and businessmen to the sport of mixed martial arts.

And BRAVE CF president Mohammed Shahid has talked about details of the show, explaining that the promotion is looking to showcase the sport in a different light, and to a new audience, and that this strategy will empower mixed martial arts in Europe and in the world, changing it for the better.

“When we go to London, we’re going to showcase an event capable of connecting people, and we will make sure mixed martial arts is never looked at the same. We want to change perceptions about the sport, we want everyone to see MMA as something that can bring people together. Mixed martial arts is not only a great and exciting sport, not only the most global sport out there, not only the fastest-growing, but it is also a sport that has equal power, that can bring government, business, advertisers and revenue-generating industries under one roof, into one sport”, commented Shahid.

Recently, the Sports Ministry of France announced MMA would become legal in the country starting January 1st, 2020. The news has come at a great time for BRAVE CF, and the promotion has its eyes set on going to a host of different countries, including France, in the next years.

“We will continue to enter different parts of Europe. There’s great news about France, and I know how hard everyone involved with MMA there was working to make it happen. So this is the type of place we will also be going into in the future. Countries like Italy, Germany, the Netherlands… These are areas where there’s a lot of talent coming through. We’re going to make sure we look everywhere in Europe, and we’ll also make sure to reap the benefits of all the impact we will make in London and take it to these countries”.

BRAVE 24: London is headlined by a title fight, as Featherweight world champion looks to defend his throne against former Lightweight titleholder Lucas “Mineiro” Martins. Also set for fight night are the returns of Cian Cowley and Aidan James, who face Maciej Gieszewski and Cameron Else, respectively. In total, 11 nations will be represented inside the BRAVE Arena, highlighting the global aspect of the organization.
