HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs finished second in the endurance championship of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa finished the 160-kilometre-long race, which was held today at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, in 7 hours, 45 minutes and 37 seconds, riding “Bazooka La Majore”.
Victorious jockey Fahd Helal Al-Khateri was the first to cross the finishing line after covering the distance in 7 hrs, 20 mns and 11 secs, followed by teammate Jaffer Mirza who clocked 7 hrs, 45 mns and 42 secs.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa said that the successful championship was highly competitive and exciting, praising the outstanding performance of stables and riders in different stages of the race.
He stressed the importance of the coming period amid participation to table part in the world endurance championship, which is scheduled to be held in Italy.
He commended the efforts of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), chaired by HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, which ensured the success of the championship.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa also congratulated Victorious team jockey Fahd Helal Al Khateri, who rode to victory and won HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Championship.
Al Khateri expressed his delight at winning the 160-km racing, paying tribute to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for his participation which was catalyst to riders who took part in the championship.
