Tokyo, Japan – Rugby World Cup
For the first time in the history of the Rugby World Cup, the tournament will be completed outside a traditional rugby-playing nation. After a brilliant showing at the 2015 edition, Japan will welcome the rugby world to its shores between 20 September and 2 November. Twelve cities will host games, with Tokyo providing the stage for the opening ceremony, the tournament’s first match between the Brave Blossoms and Russia, and a number of pool and knockout fixtures.
In the meantime, the city continues to prepare for the 2020 Olympics. Construction is underway on the New National Stadium and 11 other venues, the bulk of the development happening in the Tokyo Bay area, including work on the Olympics Aquatics Centre and new facilities for BMX, skateboarding and volleyball.
Yorkshire, UK – 2019 UCI Road World Championships
The racing starts on Saturday 21st September with Para-cycling events before the first UCI World Champions are crowned the following day with the maiden Team Time Trial Mixed Relay.
Harrogate will serve as the destination town for every race, with start locations across the county to ensure the Championships reach as many people as possible. Yorkshire, historic county of England, in the north-central part of the country between the Pennines and the North Sea. Yorkshire is England’s largest historical county. It comprises four broad belts each stretching from north to south.
Moscow, Russia – RoboCup Asia Pacific 2019
Check out cool robots playing sports. RoboCup made its first steps toward the development of robotic soccer players which can beat a human World Cup champion team. The first official RoboCup games and conference was held in 1997 with great success. Over 40 teams participated (real and simulation combined), and over 5,000 spectators attended. RoboCup Asia Pacific 2019 will be held in Moscow, Russia.
Pattaya, Thailand – IWF World Championships
2019 IWF World Championships will be held during 18th – 27th September 2019 at Pattaya, Thailand. This will be the biggest weightlifting championships this year. Everyone will keep an eye on this event as the last World Event before Tokyo 2020.
A visit to Pattaya is a wonderful way to explore the beaches along the Gulf of Thailand. Relaxed and family-friendly Jomtien Beach is a hot spot for watersports and seaside massages. The wooden Wang Boran Sanctuary of Truth pays homage to Buddhist and Hindu art and architecture. Nearby, hillside Wat Phra Yai Temple features an 18m-tall golden Buddha. The area also features several designer golf courses, some with views of Pattaya Bay.
