BRAVE Combat Federation, in collaboration with the IMMAF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation), has announced the entire schedule for its biggest event in 2019, the International Combat Week. The promotion will return to the Kingdom of Bahrain with yet another explosive fight card, that will be preceded by the IMMAF Amateur World Championships, marking the biggest mixed martial arts festival in Asia.
BRAVE president Mohammed Shahid was joined in a press conference by Kerrith Brown, head of IMMAF, and announced the full details of what promised to be the biggest International Combat Week yet, together with Bahrain MMA Federation president Col. Khalid A. Aziz Al Khayyat.
“We’ve had the World Championships before they came to Bahrain, but the development of the sport at amateur level was very slow. Now it became our job to work together with the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation in the development of MMA and to make sure as many countries and athletes as possible are able to attend. That’s our goal, to put everyone under one roof, and that roof is the International Combat Week, the largest combat sports festival in Asia”, said Shahid.
Brown said he expected up to 60 nations and 550 athletes to participate in the 2019 edition of the World Championships and praised Bahrain’s initiative of taking the tournament to the highest level of mixed martial arts competition.
“Our job is to empower national federations and athletes around the world. And our mission needs to have the right partners. BRAVE CF and the Kingdom of Bahrain are just that. They have gone above and beyond to help us achieve what we set out to, and I can’t wait to deliver our biggest IMMAF World Championships yet”.
BRAVE International Combat Week will take place in Isa Town, Bahrain, between November 9th and 16th and, will feature hundreds of bouts for the IMMAF World Championships and the biggest BRAVE event as the crowning moment of the combat sports festival.
