Funding Support for Sports and Youth Projects

Receiving the Sponsoring and Supporting Companies to the Sports ActivitiesNasser bin Hamad Instructs for Forming Fund for Supporting Sports and Youth Projects HH Underscores the Importance of Partnership Between Gov. and Private Sectors

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Affairs has announced taking the necessary steps for the launch of a fund contributing to supporting sports and youth-related projects and provide full support to it. 

The aims of this fund, according to HH Shaikh Nasser, are to preserve the efforts of the private and public sectors and align the goals via investing in youth and their potentials as young people have been a key pillar for highlighting the Kingdom’s achievements and it is part of Bahrain’s endeavour to have an expanded national human resources that pave the way for further investments and successes. 

“It’s very important that all young people from both genders have the necessary backing and services within precisely defined future plans by the stakeholders of the fund. We want to exchange opinions and ideas through an active dialogue with the investors to reach the highest level of interest and care for young people. The Kingdom of Bahrain is among the first countries to consider people aged between 0-35 as young people and such a decision is in line with the vision of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain to establish a solid foundation, from which young Bahrainis can start and reach the world,” HH Shaikh Nasser pointed out. 

HH Shaikh Nasser’s remarks came during his reception to the representatives of the companies that sponsored HM the King Football Cup,  Nasser bin Hamad Premier Football League (2018/2019 season)  and the 4th and 5th Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan League and Games (Nasser 11, 12) in the presence of several ministers and senior officials in the public and private sectors.  

At the beginning of the event, HH Shaikh Nasser conveyed the greetings and gratitude of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the representatives of the sponsoring companies, underlining the importance of partnership and integration among the public and private sectors in giving sports events the idealist organisation in order to meet the desired goals, foremost of which elevating the football sport in the Kingdom by forming a national alliance that is able to support “our plans and programmes that are aimed at elevating the most popular sport in the world”.  

His Highness said in a statement on this occasion, “We have taken it upon ourselves from the beginning to work to form a strong system from a technical point of view to support the efforts of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Bahrain Olympic Committee and Bahrain Football Association to improve the march of football in Bahrain and achieve the maximum degree of cooperation among all the system components to meet the vision designed to allow football in Bahrain moves steadily in full accordance  with the vision of His Majesty the King, who is biggest supporter of the sports in Bahrain in general and football in particular,” 

He further added: “One of the pillars of the work system to promote the Bahraini football is the private sector, which we have been able to convert from being a supporter and provider of financial resources only to a key partner in decision-making and supporting football. This has demonstrated in the interaction of the private sector with all the parts of the action plan that was made for supporting football, considering this field forms an important part of this plan that requires us to uniting efforts and working in the spirit of the team Bahrain to achieve the unique achievements of the Golden Era.” 

“Our new system for the football sport has fully implemented our strategy that is aimed at developing this sport thanks to the partnership with the private sector. The tremendous successes achieved in HM the King Football Cup and in Nasser bin Hamad Premier Football League (2018/2019 season)  as well as in the 4th and 5th Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan League and Games (Nasser 11, 12) are the direct fruit of the private sector’s support to the football activities in Bahrain. And we highly value this partnership which represents the national efforts exerted by the private sector and the strategy of the board of directors and their awareness of their national duties towards the Bahraini youth. We are confident that the private sector will continue providing such support to the football system in Bahrain and join our hands in developing it,” HH Shaikh Nasser explained.  

Furthermore, he hailed the support provided by the media to highlight the football events and competitions in the Kingdom, branding the media as a real partner in those successes. Honouring the Public Sector and the Sponsoring CompaniesDuring the event, HH Shaikh Nasser honoured the representatives of the public sector and the sponsoring companies, including the Oil Ministry, Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, Information Affairs Ministry, Ministry of Interior,  the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Affairs, Ministry of Education, Bahrain Olympic Committee, Bahrain Football Association, Ministry of Health and BDF Hospital. He also honoured Bapco, National Bank of Bahrain, Batelco, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, Alsharif Group, VIVA, Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo company, Tamkeen, Infonas, Technogym, Behbehani Brothers, Nass, Alba, GPIC, CrediMax, KFH, Bahrain Economic Development Board, Ithmar Bank, Lulu Hypermarket, Majestic Cars, Zain Bahrain, Al Haddad Motors, Khaleeji Commercial Bank, Carriage, Al Hawaj Group, Footballization,  Al Mourjan Real Estate, Bahrain Development Bank, Americal Express,  Sico Bank, Bait Al Safar company, Ramez, Al Jazira Supermarket, Solidarity Insurance, Arabian Horse, Showaiter Sweets, Ibrahim Al Afo, Bahrain Scarp Mould, The Kingdom Ready Mix and Gulf Air. 

He also honoured the media, including Bahrain Sports TV channel, Akhbar Al Khaleej newspaper, Alayam newspaper, Al Watan newspaper, Al Bilad newspaper, Al Mayadeen Magazin, GDN, Bahrain This Week, Power Up and Redia Castillo. 

At the end of the event, HH Shaikh Nasser received a souvenir from Mr Tawfiq Al Salehi, Director of the Media Office and Information Centre in the presence of the CEO of the Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan League and Games Mr Ali Al Majed. He also received a souvenir from Mr Ibrahim Al Sinan, General Manager of Majestic Cars.
